We spent a few nights before the New Year camping at different sites along the road to Milford Sound on the South Island of New Zealand. It was stunning. I think we got supremely lucky with the weather because this area is one of the wettest places in the world and our first three days were full of nothing but summer sun, gorgeous blue skies and sunsets like this.

Gorgeous! We drove through there & it was so spectacular. I can’t even imagine how awesome camping out would be. Can’t wait to see more photos!

Yep you got lucky! When we spent a day at Milford it poured, but we got lucky at Doubtful and it was gorgeous!
We had three totally spectacular days, though we’ve been poured on quite a lot since then so I suppose it all balances out. We really wanted to go to Doubtful, but it was SO EXPENSIVE. Thought we’d save it for ‘next time’.
